Sebben, crudele

And back to the baroque period again. Caldara’s aria Sebben crudele from his – now seldom performed – opera La costanza in amor vince l’inganno was pure bliss to work on. It felt as if this aria was written for my voice.

I enjoyed every minute I spent perfecting my rendition of this aria.

Ombra mai fu

Next, I sang  Ombra mai fu from Händel’s opera Xerxes, which was rather nice to work on.

If by now you’re assuming I must really like Baroque music, you’re absolutely right. But there’s more to me than just Baroque.

Lascia ch’io pianga

When I had my first singing lessons (after the hiatus) back in September, I first started working on “Lascia ch’io pianga” as a counter tenor.
